JSA advises Talgo to form joint venture with Bharat Forge Infrastructure Limited to manufacture high-speed passenger trains in the Indian Railways sector
India, 29 July 2022: JSA advised Patentes Talgo SLU (Talgo Spain) and its wholly owned subsidiary Talgo India Private Limited in its joint venture with Bharat Forge Infrastructure Limited to set up a joint venture (JV) which will engage in manufacturing high-speed passenger trains in the Indian Railways sector.
The collaboration is significant as it comes amidst the backdrop of the Ministry of Railways (MoR) tender for the manufacturing and maintenance of 100 new generation light weight energy-efficient trains.
The JV is expected to address upcoming large business opportunities in the Indian railways sector and tap the expanding domestic requirements within the Make in India programme, as well as, the push towards energy efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. The JV will focus on setting-up manufacturing, maintenance, and life cycle support hub for new generation, energy efficient, lightweight aluminium high-speed railway trains.
Talgo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spain-based world-leading high-speed passenger train manufacturer i.e., Patentes Talgo SLU with more than 75 years of experience in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of trains. Talgo trains come with unique technology that provides cost-effective operation to the operator due to its lightweight design.
