Mental Health Awareness Programme Organised at Jot Shibrampur Girl’s High School
South 24 Parganas: A Mental Health Awareness Programme was organised on August 19 at Jot Shibrampur Girls’ High School in South 24 Parganas by the Department of Psychiatric Social Work, Institute of Psychiatry, The Centre of Excellence, IPGME&R and SSKM Hospital. The programme continued until August 20, 2026.




Psychiatric Social Workers Santona Bose Pandey and Soma Shaw Roy were present at the programme. More than 300 students of the school participated in the awareness programme.
During the session, the students were given detailed information about mental health and related issues. The experts discussed various symptoms of mental health problems, how to identify them at an early stage and the importance of seeking appropriate help when required.

The students were also guided on practical ways to manage stress and cope with mental health-related challenges. The programme aimed to create greater awareness among students about mental well-being and encourage them to seek timely support whenever necessary.
