Kolkata, March 23, 2023: Senco Gold & Diamonds, the largest organized jewellery retailer in Eastern India (based on the number of stores) today launched a handmade silver and non-silver jewellery collection – ‘Padaboli’ under its fashion and lifestyle jewellery sub-brand Gossip. The 4 day exhibition kick-started today is showcasing the unique collaboration between Senco Gold & Diamonds and weavers that has jewellery matching with the design on the handwoven sarees. This exclusive exhibition will be held from March 23rd to March 26that Gallery Gold Art Centre, Kolkata and is set to mesmerise the saree and jewellery lovers of the city, and provides an opportunity to experience Bengal’s rich tradition of craftsmanship and artisanship, through the intricate designs of handwoven sarees and the reflection of it on jewellery. The designs and collections are created especially for the esteemed customers of Senco Gold & Diamonds.

After the huge success of the first edition last year, the 2nd edition of the exhibition has on display exclusive Gossip collection where traditional jamdani, handloom and kantha-stitch saree designs have been portrayed in jewellery, made of silver and other alloy metals. Artisans have developed this unique combination of jewellery designs by matching different geometric shapes and birds, trees, leaves, animals on the sarees. Senco Gold & Diamonds has collaborated with veteran textile designer and weaver Manas Ghorai for this exclusive exhibition. Through this unique initiative, the brand has tried to revive centuries-old, forgotten weaving techniques blended with contemporary jewellery designs and motifs.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Joita Sen, Director, Senco Gold & Diamonds said, “We are happy to showcase the 2nd edition of Padaboli, a unique exhibition of jewellery and traditional sarees of Bengal among patrons of jewellery and connoisseur of handmade textiles in the city. Through this unique concept, we want to give women a new form to their desire of dressing up in new ways that provides self-satisfaction and individuality. The new Padaboli collection is specially curated to celebrate Poila Baisakh and display the intricate skills of artisans and weavers of Bengal”.

Customers can buy sarees and jewellery of their choice during the exhibition from 3 pm to 8 pm. Matching necklaces, earrings, bangles can be found with each saree. The price range starts from INR 1000. From March 26 onwards, the Padaboli Collection will be available at all Senco Gold & Diamonds showrooms.
