NATIONAL SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION BY ISHRAE KOLKATA CHAPTER
Indian Society of Heating Refrigerating & Air-Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) Kolkata Chapter organized a meaningful celebration of National Sports Day on 29th August 2023 at Kalakunj Auditorium in memory of Hockey Wizard Dhyan Chand in the presence of Eminent and celebrated Sports personalities from various Sports Arena.
Renowned Grand Master Mr. Dibyendu Barua graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered his speech as how Chess and other Sports are important for developing mind & health of individuals.
Other Eminent Speakers of the event were Mr. Ranjit Mukherjee ( Former National & Bengal Football Player ) Mr Nasir Ahmed ( Football ) , Mr. Shakil Ahmed ( Rowing ), Mr. Chandan Roy Choudhury ( Vice President, Bengal Olympic Association & Bengal Para Sports Association) Mr. Archiman Bhaduri ( Sports Journalist, Times of India ), Mr. Subhashish Dasgupta ( President, West Bengal Rowing Association ) , Mr. Karan Goenka ( COO, Citi Style Retail Chain & Former National Go-karting Champion ) , Mr. Gautam Bhattacharya (Sports Journalist, Gulf News ), Ms Manisha Tripathy ( Former National Champion in full contact Karate 2004 ), Mr. Subir Sarkar ( SAF & Jawaharlal Nehru Gold Cup Representative Indian Footballer ), Mr. Siddhartha Dutta ( Coach of Gosthapal Football Academy & Krishnu Dey Academy ) , Mr. Joydip Sur ( Automotive Journalist, Editor Guide India Publication, President of Rotary Club of Calcutta South City).

Mr. Anirban Dutta ( Joint Hony Secretary, The Institution of Engineers, India ), Dignified Senior ISHRAE members Mr. Manoj Chakravorty, Mr. Amitava Sur, Mr. Utpal Biswas, Mr, Goutam Mukherjee, Mr. Bhaskar Mukherjee, Mr. SN Bose graced the occasion.
Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni, Founder Director of IISM & Mr. Amitava Pal, Associate Dean of IISM delivered their valuable speeches through recorded videos.
An excellent Presentation on ‘Neuroscience and Peak Performance’ was delivered by Mr. Abhik Roy, Founder Andre Garcia Cigar & Cases.
Audiences witnessed Live Chess games on stage, Sports Quiz and other fun activities along with the felicitation of winners of various sports like Checkmate 2023, Pin Pong 2023 & I-QUIZ 2023 that were earlier organized by ISHRAE Kolkata Chapter in July & August 2023 in association with Gariahat Chess Club, Ballygunge Brati Sangha & Qui9. The winner of the Chess was Mr. Kunal Chatterjee and Mr. Agniva Sengupta in Senior & Junior Categories respectively.
Organisers acknowledged the sponsors with mementos.
The Event were moderated by Mr. Shome Mukherjee, RJ All India Radio, Actor & Sports Commentator and ably supported by Shankha Bhattacharyya (President, ISHRAE Kolkata Chapter).
The entire Event was excellently organized and coordinated by Shankha Bhattacharyya with his team members Mr. Shyamal Barman, Mr. Shuvam Kansa Banik, Mr. Amitava Dutta , Mr. Harsh Singh, Mr. Subhro Lahiri , Mr. Siddhartha Majumder, Mr. Tamal Ghosh and Sagnik Bhattacharyya and Volunteers from various ISHRAE Kolkata Student Chapters.
