Siddha Group Embarks On A Significant Plantation Drive To Promote Sustainability, Biodiversity And Community Welfare
Kolkata, 11th June, 2024: Siddha Group, a well-known real estate developer, today, startedits mega Plantation Drive, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing community welfare. The Plantation Drive was graced by distinguished personalities, including Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Director, The Zoological Survey of India, Mr Aloke Sanyal, Assistant Commissioner, Kolkata Police (Headquarters), Ms Sohini Sarkar, Actress and Mr Siddharth Sethia, Joint Managing Director, Siddha Group in collaboration with NGOs Mrittika Earthy Talks Foundation and Harimitti.The event also saw the participation of a group of enthusiastic children who joined the esteemed guests in planting the saplings. This collective effort marks the beginning of a significant step towards creating a greener and more sustainable future.
This initiative began in New Town, Kolkata, showcasing Siddha Group’s ongoing commitment to combating climate change, reducing environmental degradation, and preserving biodiversity.In response to the pressing nature of these challenges, Siddha Group has pledged to plant 50,000 saplings by 2030. Theinitiative started with planting of 100 saplings by the guests, followed by the children, thus paving the way for greater community and stakeholder involvement.

Siddha fulfilled its commitment by planting 50,000 trees between 2012 and 2015.
