My Cinema Global Film Festival is being organised to celebrate films and to encourage new age Indie film makers. my CinemaHall is organising a film festival virtually for the second time and this time they have taken it global. It is an online film festival & the films will be screened on myCinemaHall’s safe, piracy-protected online platform. It’s therefore a unique opportunity for the film makers to reach out to global audiences.

There are three competitive segments that film makers can participate in, these are MyStory (feature film), MyShorts (short films) & MyFrames (novel films). MyFrames category encourages film makers to experiment with the medium; they can experiment with the subject & showcase any local issue or noteworthy work in the locality or can experiment with filming techniques like shooting on mobile phone or gopro.

While speaking about this online film festival esteemed jury member, national award winning film director Atanu Ghosh said, “I feel it’s a great opportunity for storytellers from different parts of the country and abroad to showcase their work and make a mark globally. I hope the festival continues for years together and wishes it every success.”

my CinemaHall had organized MyShorts a festival of Bengali short films in 2020. MyShorts got an overwhelming response from both filmmakers/ fraternity and audience.

Encouraged by its success, this year the film festival has gone international, covering three competitive categories. The selected films will be screened on the platform for a period of one month as part of the film festival. The winners will be announced in a virtual online event, which will be simultaneously broadcasted on the social media channels & the platform.

Speaking about this year’s film festival CEO, managing director of myCinemaHall, Kalyanmoy Chatterjee said, “This is our second edition. Last year we hosted a Bengali Short Film Festival MyShorts. Encouraged by the spontaneous and tremendous response we received last year, we decided to widen the scope this year. MyCinema Global is open to filmmakers across the world. It includes Feature films, Short films and Documentaries. We have already seen great response. Apart from different Indian languages, we have received entries from France, Spain, Italy and Brazil. A festival like MyCinema Global encourages budding filmmakers to showcase their creations to the global audience.”

This year’s jury panel will be helmed by National award winning film director Atanu Ghosh, renowned and National award winning film editor Arghyaakmal Mitra, four times National award winning audiographer Bishwadeep Chatterjee & famous theatre and film personality Sohag Sen. Jury member Bishwadeep Chatterjee said, “My CinemaGlobal online film festival is a great platform to showcase films from India and all over the world.”

The organizers feel confident that MyCinema Global will be able to fulfill its core objectives of empowering Indie film makers with a platform that enables them to charm global audiences. Unlike other festivals, filmmakers can invite their own audience to the festival and the viewership needn’t be restricted to only the invitees of the organisers.

Yatrik Chakraborty, Chief Operations Officer, myCinemaHall said, “We are organizing MyCinema Global Film Festival this year with the objective of empowering storytellers and offering them a platform to showcase their creation. Last year we had organized a festival called MyShorts. Our main purpose of doing these festivals is to inspire a film maker to not only find his or her audience but to also enable them in learning & growing as film maker. I am a filmmaker myself, I know how important a festival is to a director. The most significant encouragement comes from “who are the jury members that will be reviewing my film?”. Even if the film doesn’t win any awards, the appreciation it receives from the industry stalwarts, play a huge role for a director like me.
Last date for film submission is 31st December, 2021.
